I love working with children, crafts and participation. I see weaving and thinking creatively as an important part of thinking differently. I run workshops for schools and the wider community connecting people to their culture and local heritage. It is also great fun, good for the wellbeing and a wonderful way for people and families to connect with each other.
Weaving activities in schools are designed to link into the national curriculum. I have also run workshops with Art in Action (Oxfordshire), Craft Scotland, the Edinburgh Book Festival, Fife Contemporary, Stanley Mills (Historic Environment Scotland), the Cambo Heritage Trust and the Fife Folk Museum.
Since 2013 the Heritage Crafts Association have included one of my children’s weaving activities as part of their Online Teachers Resource.
All workshops use as many recycled materials as possible.
